Fuck Yeah Friday: Being Not Perfect Just For Today

something I feel that I have trouble with is having to high of expectations of myself to be perfect. Just for today:

  • Don't berate yourself to keep doing this "just so"
  • When the word "perfect" comes up in your mind, embrace the now and its imperfections
  • Embrace the word "perfect" and think that you're perfect right now right here
  • Do something, safely, that is as imperfect as you can think of.
Being perfect does not mean being perfect. It means living up to yours and other people's expectations, and if you haven't noticed those expectations are just way too damn high, and usually have nothing to do with you. They sometimes have to do with what other people want, and what other people have been taught by society that is perfect. We need to empower ourselves, and not let the perfections we see in others put us down. They could bring us up, because the reflections of what we feel as a community can lift up people to do their best.

Try affirmations like, "I am perfect.""I am imperfectly perfect." "I see the bright side in all situations." "I am not my disorder."
